After the Minerve Ocean Infinity and the wreck of flight MH370
In 2019, Ocean Infinity contributed to the discovery of the wreck of the French submarine La Minerve, which disappeared in 1968 with 52 sailors on board. (See page dedicated to the discovery of La Minerve)
Recently, Ocean Infinity has re-launched the search for flight MH370 in 2025, in partnership with the Malaysian government. The company is deploying advanced underwater drones to explore a 15,000 square kilometer area in the Indian Ocean, under a “no result, no cost” contract.
It won't be 2018's Seabed Constructor carrying out the searches. It has since been resold, renamed Orient Constructor, and now sails under the Taiwanese flag. This is the Armado 78 06. (You can locate its position by clicking here).
The experience gained in locating La Minerve is invaluable for this new mission. The technologies and methods proven during the discovery of the submarine are being put to good use to increase the chances of finding the wreckage of MH370. This initiative rekindles the hopes of the families of the missing and the international community to finally unravel the mystery surrounding the disappearance of flight MH370.
