On the Quai de la République in Port-Vendres, on July 14, 18 trainees were gathered in the uniform of the French Navy for the solemn ceremony of awarding certificates and insignia to the 46th class of the Marine Military Preparation "Quarter-Master Fort" of Perpignan (PMM). This one honors, by bearing his name, the memory of the radio quartermaster Jean-François Fort,  of the submarine "Minerve", at 18 years old

Then a ceremony of unveiling of an updated plaque with the date of the discovery of the wreck of the Minerve_cc781905-5cde-3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d held in tribute in the presence of the sister of the QM Fort, Janine Fort, the mayor of Port-Vendres and the trainees of the Marine Military Preparation "QM Fort" of Perpignan 

 

The unveiling took place on July 14, 2020 at 10 a.m. at the Port-Vendres cemetery.

 

A copy of the book "Finding the Minerva"  was given

to Mrs Janine Fort,

at CF(h) RAZOULS (1st head of the PMM center who baptized the center "QM Fort"),

to LV Reichert commander of BBPD Acheron,

to Mr. Philippe CHOPIN Prefect of the Pyrénées-Orientales

and 1 copy has been kept in the Library du centre PMM.
